Their prevalence and distribution have been linked to deforestation and land use change in the region, suggesting that future trajectories of development and forest management will influence the burden of disease. In this session, we will bring together experts in disease ecology to explore the latest evidence for the role of nature in vector-borne disease transmission and its implications for land use decisions in Latin America. Featured speakers will present their research, followed by a moderated panel discussion.
